Default air leak in hatch

So, the real reason I was dicking about in the hatch is that I have an air leak. When I lock the doors (not unlock) the pump runs for about ten seconds and there is a whistling from the trunk. I removed the little white pneumatic trunk lock actuator from the end of the green air line and hooked it up to the mityvac where it held pressure and didnt whistle. The air line didn't hold pressure, but when I pulled a vacuum on it it didn't whistle. So best I could figure was the connection between the two is the problem, so I used a bit of silicone to try and re-seal this thing, to no avail. Has anyone else had a similar problem with the myriad of air lines, and if so, what did you use to seal it?

Rubber nipple is fine. Seems like the actuator is air tight. Which o-ring?

Default doesn't the connector look like this?

(the white part in this photo?)
<a href="http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m32/JunkyardCars/4Chase/?action=view&current=DSCN7052.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m32/JunkyardCars/4Chase/DSCN7052.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

IIRC, an O-ring is an integral part of the connection. I can get some better photos later tonight.

Default yes

And now I remember the little black o-ring. I cleaned it ans it seemed ok, I guess I could tear off the silicone and try replacing the o-ring

Default I've also see the retaining clips on the white plastic connector break and prevent a good seal.

I have a few extras if you need one.

The retaining ring looks ok (it was a bitch to get off). I'll take it apart and try a new o-ring.
