I have just returned from the dealership where I have been told that there is no navigation update for Q5 navigation system. I could not believe since we are already in 2014, that there are no updates SINCE 2010!, and I phoned audi USA. They say the same thing there! At the same time, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi_Media_Interface contains information about newer versions of the maps (my database version is 5.3.4). What is going on? How can I update the navigation data?

Not sure if your navigation is hard drive-based, but if so, ETKA shows the attached as being available for a 2010 Q5....there's also the required activation document (8R0 060 884 BD) that lists for $265. I'm scarcely an ETKA expert owing to its subtleties, but it might be a starting point for your discussions with the dealer. Good luck.

This is not a website. This is from official program for the Volkswagen group (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat)

Simply, show your this your dealer, he needs to know what this is

Also, I can not make out the titles in the top left corner. The first one is model, the second is year 2010(A) (by the way, what A signifies?), and then just some numbers (look like M8 and 8G on my screen), and the last one illustration. So can you say what those M8 and 8G actually are?

I was interested because I could not see it and would not know if it is important. When dealer said that there is no update, he was saying "I enter your car into the system and I see no update". So I was wondering if there are different variants of the car or something like this. Since the letter is just the year, I is obviously not important, but I did not know that.
