Default Swapping a stearing wheel from Paddles to NON Paddles

I didnt order my A6 because they had one on the lot, the only thing is it had the stupid paddles on the steering wheel. I have found them to be quite annoying and the dealer thought they could remove my wheel with a NON paddle wheel.

I called the dealership today and said that they cannot remove it because it is a physical connection with my car. Aside from grinding the ignorant things off can i swap the wheel with a regular A6 steering wheel?

I know this is opposite of what everyone would want, but if its possible i am totally willing to buy a new one or swap with a fellow forum member.

Again i want to swap my paddle shifter steering wheel with a NON paddle shifting Wheel. It would have to be powered as i have that feature. I cannot stand them and actually find my self accidently hitting them because i have long fingers.

You're serious? Do you have a sport package installed? I would think the cars software in that config would require a wheel with paddles connected, otherwise it would be a fault.

If your steering wheel is black, I'd be happy to switch with you. I am located near Edison in NJ. I have an A7, but the parts are the same.

Just needs to be reprogrammed. Anyone with vagcom or the Audi dealer can do that. No problem at all.

Unfortunately I'm in SoCal and my steering wheel is the olive/dark brown color that comes w/ velvet beige. Good luck finding one!

Seems like a waste of money. I don't use my paddles at all. Have just tested them out a couple of times, but your post got me thinking. I didn't even notice the paddles unless you actively spread your fingers to feel for them. If you don't they won't get in the way. If you have that kind of money to spend, then I guess go ahead, but its hardly noticeable.
On this car the paddles are not helpful at all. Bummed me out when I found ought US cars wouldn't get s tronic transmission. I guess they has to make the masses happy with a slush box smooth transmission vs quick shifting and slightly rougher s tronic. On my last 2010 s4 with s tronic it was actually useful for the quick shifts. Not at all with this car.

I find the paddles quite useful. I know I have other options....sports mode or manual mode but I find it easier to use the paddle when I need that drop down during the end-of-work-day drive home. Gas usage is a factor - regretfully it's a 40 minute drive home and none of it freeway....all stop and go.
