No head up display?

No head up display?
maybe I'm just hoping that Audi trolls these forums, but I am surprised and bothered by the fact that the Audi A8 does not yet have a Head Up Display. I even considered going with a BMW 7 series because they have it but decided to go for the new A8 because of other technology reasons and some other issues.

I would be surprised if it wasn't in the next refresh.
Wish that the traffic/map on the HUD was more like the European version demo I've seen.
Looking at in on the A7 the first thing that popped into my mind was "What a dust collector that would be!"

having just moved from a 2011 bmw 7 with heads up to a 2013 A8L without, I can truly say I don't miss it. first off, the bmw HUD becomes invisible when wearing polarized sunglasses, and so I never used it during the day. secondly, the trade off in the bmw is a fairly small regular information display in the driver dash. I actually like the bigger screen in the regular dash of the A8.
and thirdly, I did get annoyed every time I had to dig a valet ticked out of the display well. I have gladly traded the HUD for the quick ease of access to the greater access to easily readable information in the dash. I thought I would miss the HUD, but I don't give it a second thought now...

Precisely, I don't own a car with this but I've been in several. I call it the "coin jar option". 'the stuff that collects in the nooks an crannies of a dash over the years, this is proof that black holes exist. Where I live, I'd be sure to find a dead mouse in there one day.

Heads up is nice at night. But the display during the day can cause an annoying glare from the reflection of the unit.
So all is not perfect with heads up.
I would prefer it be a stand alone option.
