Adaptive Transmission reset

Took some searching, but found it.

First part goes over the affected vehicles and the update. Frankly, seems weird it supposedly only applies to 2012 A8's. To me that implies either less flexibility in the first year ones, or some kind of not ready for prime time 2012 change that needed more work.
Middle part about software version management is a snoozer, but if you page way toward the end of the document, there is a fairly extensive procedure in there about adaptation, definitely including some new stuff since my D3 experience/approach.

On some of the more basic stuff yes.
My advice would be if the VCDS screen doesn't look the same or the bytes are wildly different, let someone else risk their modules.
I've only done VIM as even the belt chime isn't an issue on these models and remote windows is novel but almost never used it on D3.
Most of the modules and channels have pop-up dialogs that explain on a per chassis basis what each item does.
Because there is more UDIS protocol on the D4 there are more pull down options than bitwise/long coding ones.
VIM, remote windows, needle sweep, some people change the turn indicator so it fails to meet DOT requirements, and lowering the ride height.
Not much else that I've seen but these are still fairly 'new' vehicles with not too many folks modifying them yet.
If there is anything specific you're looking for reach out to Ross-Tech directly or in their forum.
Sadly I never could find a concise list even on the D3 - possibly due to lesser volumes than, for example, the A4.

Thnx again.
This is one I am going to try;
Enable Adaptive brake lights
[46 - Comfort System] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8
Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active - check box
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active - check box

I wanted to disable "Lights are ON" but the code wasn't there or at lease I didn't see it.
Disable "Lights are on" Warning
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 5
Bit 3 - Set to 0 to disable "lights are on" warning when you open the door.
I also set the following;
Enable Automatic Gear selection shown in DIS
[02 – Auto Trans] [Adaptation – 10]
Select “Single Gear Display” from top channel drop down menu
Select “D on/S on” from New value drop down menu
Enable Euro parking lights that turn on signal at night
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 9
Bit 0 - Set to 1
Enable Lap Timer
[17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 1
Bit 3 - Check the box for "Lap Timer active"
Not sure I would ever need the lap timer.

I think I turned on the lap timer when I did needle sweep, but never saw it, or figured out how to use it at least...
Lights Are On warning reminds me I've got to ask Audi what the Side Lights Are On means since it happened again the other day around dusk in the garage.

I started a new thread to keep track of what I was able to program and how it turned out.
VCDS Mods done to my 2012 A8L
Haven't tried these instruction yet.
