Default Coolant in wire harness

In need of some serious help from my Audi gurus. I posted this in the A6 section, but was not getting any help.

Found coolant in the wire harness going to my ABS and ECU module. Has any one experience this before and what was the culprit? Oh yes, both those module are toast now.

Likely a coolant valve leak.
Have heard of this on VW's - so bad in fact it wicked all the way to the tail lamps, and recently a D4: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...hlight=coolant

Edit: Supposedly a known issue but I haven't looked for a TSB

Thanks for the reply
I have checked the sensor on the coolant bottle and a sensor on the coolant return line which is very difficult to get to, both sensors was dry. Do you know of any other locations of sensors that could introduce coolant into the wire harness?

Which engine?

AWN and ART (both 4.2L) wiring diagrams show:
G2 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
G62 - ECT sensor
F66 - EC Level Warning Switch

Note G2 may be integral with G62.
You aren't getting an 01039 code are you ?

Edit: Looks like the VW issue was at the reservoir http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/co...ant-reservoir/

Edit2: Looking at the erWin repair manual and the pictures of the expansion tank at ECS my gut says it's the tank/F66
Disconnect electrical wiring to Engine Coolant Level (ECL) warning switch -F66- at the bottom of expansion tank.

It's the 3.0 engine. What part of NC are you in?
I checked the tank and the coolant and the coolant temp sensor and both are dry. The coolant trashed my ECU so I was getting all kind of crazy codes.

It's essentially the same on the 3.0 but G62 is slightly differently positioned.
Charlotte.

It probably worked it's way into the harness by capillary action, which could explain the dry points.
Still thinking it's the tank, but could be wrong.
The manual shows leakdown testing by pressurizing the tank to 1 bar and watching for a drop.

I am from Charlotte, I still own a house there in the university area.

The tank sensor does not have the insulation that goes up to the connector, so I doubt it's that one. I will check the other sensor again and that's a b**** to get to.
