New valve cover gasket--is the "V" too large?
I'm installing a new--supposedly genuine Audi--valve cover gasket that shows the 4 ring logo and part #078 103 484C--should be correct. The "V" section at the back by the cam adjuster is about 1/8" larger than the old one (not sure, that may have been Victor Reinz) and protrudes above the rest of the gasket by about the same amount when installed. I don't recall this before, and I've done this job a least 3 times. It's in the groove--tried several times--it's just bigger. Does this matter? Will it compress adequately to seal?
Thanks!
Thanks!

One condition: Your surfaces have to be absolutely clean... like Acetone clean! Then you shouldn't have any issue whatsoever.

Well, for future reference, it did compress enough to get a uniform gasket line across the cam adjuster. Can't really see it at the exhaust cam cap. We'll give it a shot an hope for no leaks!
