Default Oil Level Sensor Defective Warning Light

So that light came on the other day. Rather annoying since it has become more and more frequent. Anyone with any experience with this sensor? And if so, is it buried in the bottom end of the motor like I'm suspecting? Something for my mechanic to tackle?

Thanks for any feedback

it not a big deal when one of these fail. the time to change it is when you change the oil since the sensor is on the bottom of the oil pan. 3 bolts and 5 minutes and your done. i suffered with mine for about 6 months or so until i got around to putting a new one in

the p/n for a 2.7 motor sensor is 1J0907660B
