Who in their right mind stages another run group outside the pit area BEFORE the checkered flag?
That is just plain stupid....sorry for the guys that lost their cars.....this kind of setup is against ALL common (track) sense, these cars should not have been there in the first place.

every event I've been at always stages the next run group in the pit lane before the
checkered flag, of course all of the other ones also have an armco between the track and pit lane.

You know what I mean with "staging" ;-) Keep the cars on the other site of the armco until the
session is really over.....I'd like to hear the reaction if the insurance companies dealing with this incident....

Well the problem there is this is one of the infield courses that doesn't use the real pit
so the staging area is just on an extra strip of pavement off of the course. Had he not hit the cars, he would have carried pretty far. Putting a tire wall there might be a good idea going forward. He shouldn't have even been on that side of the course, so he was already in trouble.

ouch
What a ****-poor organized event this was <yeah, I ran the even too......but the East Course on Friday>
......even from your video, the first couple of mins, where you had two wheels off the track, they SHOULD'VE made you come in, and check your tires/shape/condition of your vehicle.....doesn't help either that your instructor isn't providing you any tips on smoothness, how to drive, turn etc.....
Oh, nice picture of your car, is that before of after teh 1,000 pounds of Duct tape you had on your vehicle Friday?!?!?

Pi$$ poorly organized event, both PDA and NASA should be ashamed of themselves
if you're charging ppl $$ for track time, including novices, you're required to have instructors ready for them, and instructors whom:
a) know their stuff and explain this to students <do you hear IFLYSOLO's instructor comment on how to steer in, where to look to take a turn (especially in the beginning of his video, that's a turn you want to take with sololy looking out your side windows, and taking it in second gear, I am NOT hearing the instructor
b) are available when sessions are ran (on Friday, there were only about 6 or 7 instructors available, which led to fact that both Novices ran with white (thus more experienced group).
c) take action if need be...<as in IFLYSOLO's video can be seen, he should've MADE come in, and had his car checked>
d) know the rules <if somebody behind IS faster, give them a PASS sign, darnit>
</rant>
