Icelink/iPod - left channel problem. Please help.
I have a B6 S4 Avant with Bose Symphony and XM. I wanted iPod and also wanted to keep my XM and CD changer. After consulting this forum, I purchased an icelink and Sal's magic cable that makes the head unit read the iPod on the CDC input. I had it professionally installed at pretty high end place, and the guy had some issues getting the install right. Eventually it all worked, but the left channel is messed up. Left channel is much quieter than the right ( I can listen, but balance at +10 to the left), and it has some audible noise, so it just ain't workin' right. I pulled both the radio end and the CD changer end, and all connections seemed to check out. Interestingly, just once when I had a very heavy load sitting in the car (where all the connections are on the cables) the left side sprang to life in all its glory for about 5 minutes. Then I hit a speed bump and back to the same. What gives? I am wondering if the icelink or the other cable are bad - if so, how can I tell?
