Default Vacation, part 1...Complete.

Well...the first half of my vacation is complete; went down and ran our sound system all weekend for some hippies in NC.

ye ol' A6 did remarkably well for having some bad vacuum lines. the last time I drove down to this location and back the tranny in that car started to die on the way..most likely because of mountains and speed, coupled with the load.
the roads in NC are in really nice shape most of the time, so long as you stay on public roads, once you stray off of those...it's a different matter.

that's a creek running along the dirt road that was where I was staying...the creek has eroded away about a foot to a foot and a half of dirt underneath the road, given it's about 3 feet down, but I wonder when they're going to put some rocks in to keep it from eroding further. the car was filthy from bugs and dust, but I did get a couple shots though:

the drive in my last car was a little unnerving due to 18 wheelers that had a hard time dealing with the grades through the mountains..this time it was a pure joy outside of car traffic. the real shocker is driving home I got an average of 28MPG in NC, once I hit TN, there was a traffic jam just outside of knoxville, but I still averaged 27.2 in TN, and the last leg across KY ended up being 26.4MPG. I'm pretty happy and shocked with those numbers. but this is the first trip with the newer, lighter exhaust. but...wow.

came home and took about 3 showers to get the hippy funk offa me. and went into the dealer this morning to have them look into the evap code I've been getting...of course, it wasn't stored for some stupid reason but they did take care of another vacuum line, so my trip to Ann Arbor and Detroit in a few days should be problem free as well.
