Default Rain/Light Sensor help

Hi,
‘I’ve upgraded my light sensor to a train and light sensor but I’m lost as to whether I’ve put everything in the right place as I’ve got a few issues.

I’ve put the wire from sensor to J519 I’m lost as it’s still not working and the lights have some issues.

can anyone help please?

The J519 module must be changed to a later one from a facelift car, (mine is revision S I think and I removed an E module)

After this you have to remove all light sensor coding from the roof module.

Yes I’ve done that.
replaced with a Q variant and taken 512 from the roof module as per previous posts.

gives me a 01520 error on the rls - no signal/communication - intermittent
also the sidelights show a short/blown error
When I turn the lights on they flash up then turn off again. I then -turn them off and on again and they stay on.

was trying to find pictures of what to do but the posts are too old and the pictures have disappeared

I’ve got VCDS and looked at the coding but am still at a loss.
I’ve taken the power from the original light sensor power

I disconnected the data wire (green) in the roof electronics (038) and connected a length of wire from there to pin 31 of J519, spliced in I should say (09)

This is the yellow/white wire?

It must be a splice.

That's the only hardware changes. If your coding is correct, then the RLS may be defective.

Yes spliced in so the new wire is connected to the wire as it enters pin 31 on j519.

suspected the sensor may be faulty too but wanted to double check all avenues first.

was looking for pictures of the wiring to make sure I’d done everything right too
