Introducing the AWE Tuning S6/S7 Exhaust Suite, with new Track Edition
An exhaust suite the S6 and S7 deserve.
Highlights:
AWE Tuning Research and Development has yielded an exhaust that is remarkably civil while idling/part throttle cruising, but unleashed at full throttle produces what some have called a “war-cry wail.” The Touring Edition Exhaust features our proprietary sound canceling technology, 180 Technology®, providing the perfect tone, minus the drone. Sound Perfection: AWE Tuning 180 Technology™
As exhaust gases exit the 4.0T engine and flow into an AWE Tuning 180 Technology™ equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves re-join the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.
Why it Matters:
Unlike a valved system that requires the driver to select volume, 180 Technology® is activated by your driving style. Highway cruising on a conference call? No worries, we’re quiet. Ready to drop the hammer? Wake the beast with throttle input. It’s sophisticated and disobedient, all in one clean package, thanks to 180 Technology®.
The Track Edition Exhaust:
For those who like to take it up a notch… and leave it there. The Track Edition Exhaust takes the engineered design of the Touring Edition Exhaust and replaces the AWE Tuning 180 Technology® resonators with straight pipe sections, delivering an even bigger dose of 4.0T attitude. This system is known to get rowdy in the mid-range, and may be a bit much for many. For that reason, this system can’t be returned due to sound (this system’s about commitment).
Track Edition Exhaust notes: As mentioned above this system can’t be returned or exchanged based upon volume preference. The Track Edition Exhaust *can* be converted at a later date to a Touring Edition Exhaust (or vice versa). Hit us here if you’re interested in the conversion.
Tip Options:
All tip options include the AWE Tuning logo, and double walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. All tips are individually adjustable, allowing depth into the bumper to be set according to personal taste.
Cancel it out: AWE Tuning Electronic Valve Simulators
Since the Touring and Track Edition Exhausts don’t require the use of the [S6/S7’s] factory valves, they’re eliminated. When this happens, the ECU stores what is known as a ‘soft code’. While this code is not harmful, who wants it? Enter the AWE Tuning Electronic Valve Simulators. These simple devices plug right into the factory harness in place of the exhaust valves, and prevent any code from ever being stored in the ECU due to the removal of the exhaust valves. Plug them in. Start it up. Drive away. That simple. Comes as a set of two.

Track Exhaust
Does anyone have experience with the track edition system? I like that it is cheaper and louder...but is it obnoxiously loud on an S6 or more like a Mercedes C63 AMG? Any drone? Loud while cruising? I watched the video and love the sound..just want to get a feel for what it is like in real world use from someone who has it.
