My number 3 cylinder is not firing. I don't remember the code. Anyway I have swapped coil packs between cylinders, put in a new coil pack and after a short period of time the code returns. Yes lack of power and MPG. Compression is good. I think it's electrical.

I am tired of resetting the code and I don't want to take it into the dealer. I rebuilt the top end last December. Water pump froze up. Car was running great until 2 months ago when this problem started.

Any ideas on what is the problem is and what steps I should take?

take it to the dealer and get the german coils.

also on the audiusa website theres a place where you can put in your vin and see if your vehicle was recalled for coils
