Default Interior Intrusion Detection for the 2001 TT Roadster

Do you know if the TT Roadster for 2001 has the interior detection for the alarm when the top is down or is cut? I see in the manual that it mentions it but mine doen't have a swicth for it where it should be. I was told by the dealer that it wasn't available for the Roadster but only the Coupe.

Thanks,

slick87

It was removed sometime during the 2001 model year.

I was told that the earlier 2001 had them, and them they stopped putting then in the TTs. The sun and heat would set them off, creating more problems then not. The switch over came mid year when they started to put in ESP.

I have 2001 roadster, no intrusion alarm, but ESP

Too many false alarms for some people.

Default hehe.. I have intrusion alarm and ESP... I guess I got lucky.

And I've never had a problem with the Sun/heat setting it off. Surprising, since I live in Houston where we regularly get 100+ degree weather in the summer.

I've got both too... but in a coupe, so I guess it's not big news.
