Default engine noise after thermostat. replasement

Hi, everyone; I just replace the thermostat on my 2000 AUDI a4 3.0 and I end-up with a very loud noise coming from the right side (valve cover) after I finished it. When I loose the timing belt tension I did not move anything other than the belt from the right side Cam, I did fallow the instructions very close. What I did wrong?.

It sound like bad piston or bend valves, if that the case, how that happened?.

Thank for anything

Did you mark the belt / gear so you would be sure to get it on in the same exact spot?

Hi, what was happening on your engine ? One teeth was off and hitting each other( Valves and piston)? etc.
