vibrates sometimes when moving from 1st to 2nd gear
hi
hope i can get some help with this issue that is driving up the wall
sometimes the car will judder or vibrate for a few seconds when moving from standstill from 1st to 2nd gear.
it driving me crazy (im not sure if its the length of time or heat as to why sometimes it does this)
there are no clunking noises, no shakes or vibration in the gear stick, the clutch biting point is just under half.
the movements between gears 1 to 6 is smooth with no crunches or stickiness at all.
the car is responsive to all gears. in the fact the car drives like it was made yesterday nice, smooth and quick
i bought this odb11 thinking it would give some indication but no fault found.
i left it with a trusted backstreet mechanic all day then he said to me the following day that he could not find any faults
i rang audio and they said bring it in if the motor light comes on.
from the internet these are some of the answers im getting
oil in the clutch plate. (this car has not ever leaked oil since a had)
the gear box is on its way out
the bell housing is damaged
the clutch is worn out
something about a delay solenoid
engine mounts are worn
the car is too old buy a bm
bad coils caused the vibrations
many of those i have eliminated by using logic ...
for example cant be mounts because it should vibrate all the time right?
can some one help me out
thanks

hi
im putting the answer here just in case another person in the future would have the same or similar issues that i had.
brought it to a reputable car service shop (not audi)
the mechanic took it out for a test run and after 15minutes he returned
he lifted the car then called me to view the problem.
he took a long iron bar and placed it somewhere between the front wheel arch and at the back of the tire
he gently rocked the lower linkarm. the wheel began moving to the front and back with so much excessive play.
he said that there was nothing wrong with the gearbox, DMF and clutch.
i had both "lower control link arms" changed and an alignment test...
been driving the car for 3 days now and it is such a relief not to be having what felt like the engine shuddering out of control at
moving off from stand still.
