Anyone have any opinions about dealers for q5 repairs or service if out of warranty?

I pretty much had one guy at Audi tell me they can only fix something if it is obvious or if there is an error code for it.

My Q5 is due for service, but I haven't had great experiences with the dealer while it was under warranty... so wondering if I should find someplace else to do the service and ask them to look at a couple of things while I'm there.

Where do you take your q5 for work (assuming you don't do it yourself) and why?

I never take my car to the dealer after the warranty is up. I find a good local independent mechanic who specializes in a certain brand. You can post in the regional forums for a recommendation near your town.

specialized shop that does European work or if you can repair your own that would save you a ton of money but for sure a vagcom data cable is needed.
