What engine are you talking about? On my 3B that line is nearly impossible to see and required the removal of the PS pump to R&amp;R. On an MC engine that line is way easier to get to......
either way, fix it before you go, you've set the wheels of "Murphy's Law" in motion by mentioning it and it'll definitely fail on the trip...probably in the middle of nowhere...I can see and hear the mechanic now, spits a big 'ol brown luggey [sp? you know, tobacco juice]and says, "Ain't never seen one of them before, how much money you got boy?"

the only reason i havent replaced it is because i get my parts from some vw guru whos son buys it wholesale, he said i would have to get the air temp sensor and the coolant line from an audi dealer and am starting to run low on cash, plus i need to leave tomorrow. can that self bonding tape be bought at autozone

I've seen it at Autozone. Similar products are available at hardware stores too, usually in the plumbing department.
