Default You could look at the possibility of installing diodes...

to prevent the audio signals from travelling backwards into the "off" device. I'm not sure how these would affect audio quality though.

Default Teddy, any update on the iPod + Satellite install guide?

What audio part do we need for a pass-through device? Tnx.

Default WARNING!! Do NOT(!!) do this with the DICE I-AUDI-R

Installed in my 2004 Audi S4 with Symphony II head unit (6 Disc in-dash):

1. DICE I-AUDI-R
2. Enfig SAT Pass through cable.

To make a VERY long story short- I spliced into the audio wires as described in John Stahmann's post. The audio will work from both sources (SAT and DICE/IPOD), however, there is a VERY unwanted audio side effect with this method:

*** The audio will have OVERLY bright highs/mids and non-existent bass ***

After I studied the BUS pin-outs, I suspect that the missing connection is the CDC ground (pin 10, if I remember right). This is only a guess on my part, however, when I used the pass through cable as designed and instructed; the audio from both the SAT and DICE/IPOD is now perfect (or as perfect as the BOSE system gets).

The DICE unit works VERY well and I highly recommend the Enfig Audi pass through cable (AVINCAR also stated that he makes the same cable as an alternative source). Just make sure you route the audio as instructed (through the T8 connection at the SAT tuner).

Default Re: WARNING!! Do NOT(!!) do this with the DICE I-AUDI-R

Can someone clarify what the 1 modification is to get the newer sat pass through cable going w/ the ipod from DICE? (I-AUDI-R)

i'm having the no bass/high treble problem.

Do you just splice pin 10 (CDC ground) to your black ground wire? or did i mis-read this?

thanks..

Default I would not recommend any splicing-

Emb1133,

If you did splice the CD Ground wire (pin 10) I would be interested to know if that cured the sound artifacts (low base, "bright" highs).

If you use the pass through as intended, you must route the DICE audio wires (CD-R, L, S Ground 18/19/20) back through the SAT tuner- this requires routing the audio wires all the way through the car (I removed the panel under the steering wheel [my wife FREAKED when she saw everything pulled apart- Funny]and routed the audio wires along the trim next to the floor and back to the trunk. Please see my post here:

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/395151.phtml

(might clear things up- I referenced the AW posts that helped me correct the spliced modification).

Good Luck! Contact me if you need any additional help.
