Default Service Interval Display

I have recently purchased a 2008 Q7 3.6 premium and changed the oil and filter but do not know how to reset the service interval display. Currently the reminder is reading 3100 miles and 222 days. Any assistance would be helpful. Thank you

Vag com is your only way to fix that.

Thank you for your reply. I have searched the MMI settings and have not found the section that will allow me to make the change. What is the "Vag com"?

VAG-COM is a $350 cable and software you buy from Ross-tech.com. VAG-COM is called VCDS now on their website (for VAG-COM Diagnostic System IIRC.) Forget the ebay el-cheapos. And yes, we all get mad that VAG makes us do this because on our last [fill in non-late-model-German make/model] car, all you did was push some button on the dash and viola, it's reset. It is what it is. Alternative is to find someone with a VCDS or see if the dealer will reset it for free. On the plus side, VCDS does *a lot* more than just a SRI reset. Tons of info if you search.

You're welcome. Also FWIW if you decide to sell the cable later, they (the true Ross-Tech cables) regularly sell for over $300, so you're not out that much money...
