Default Q7 Front Grille with ACC Sensors Vs. Normal Q7 Grille without ACC sensors

Hi All,

I was wondering whether a normal Q7 front grille (2011, facelift model) can be modified to accommodate the Adaptive/Radar Cruise Control sensors that sit on the ACC grille?

The reason I ask this is because I have Q7 (TDI, 2011, UK-spec) with the Adaptive Cruise Control option and I want to change-out the existing chrome-strip grille for the Black Optic matte-finish factory-spec grill. However, this Black Optic grill is coming of a 2014 Q7 which does not have the ACC option and so is the normal grille. So, can this be modified to accommodate the existing ACC sensors present on my vehicle?

I hope the question is clear, thank you for any advice.

Cheers,

R

There is clearly two different part numbers, also the front grill filler needs to be the right one with the heating element behind.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand that there would be two different part numbers, however are you aware if the normal grille (without ACC) be modified easily to accommodate the ACC sensors?

I didn't know about the heating element behind the grille - what purpose does this serve and is it present only on the ACC grille?

Apologies if any of the questions are basic..

Cheers,

R

The heating element is to remove snow/ice buildup to keep the radar functioning properly. For how to modify the grill I guess you'll have to wait for someone who has done this mod before.

Thanks for confirming.

In that case, I may just take a punt and see what happens. If I do, will post the results here.

Hi, do you know the correct part number for the Black Optic ACC-ready Grille?

Cheers,

You'll have to give a call to your dealer, I tried to look on Jim Ellis Audi parts website but can't get to the grill part number.
