Oh wow. That's a lot of driving and you have a lot of responsibility. 40K a year is a lot and I guessed 30K a year . Yea it's good to have another car or two anyways because the A8 might be down for service and at least you have another car to drive. Like you said nothing can compare to these cars and the quality of enjoy these are priceless.

Lots of good input guys! Hopefully it will be clean and have some maintenance records when I go look at it. Did all of yall get a PPI before you bought the car?

A8 D3 is very special car so inspection means nothing if it is not performed by somebody who knows it really well. All components that would be inspected on any other car will be in a perfect condition at 80K miles. Aluminum body generally doesn't rust, power train is like new at that millage and, as you said, it looks perfect.

Only thing that will give a good insight is VCDS or VAS scan, but it has to be performed bu somebody with experience.

Maintenance records wise there is not much to expect. Mostly oil changes and, if the owner was really peaky, few insignificant parts replacement. So called major services are actually major money for a dealer for a minor work. Nothing major comes after 80K either.

Go for it and enjoy excellent car. If you ewer have any problem just keep in mind that you purchased 75% of a value for 25% money.

1 photos shows the exposed MMI display but the display is completely blank/black...

also they only show a photo of one of the displays in the head rest being on and the other is blank/black...

some photos show the key in the ignition with the interior lights on and other photos show no key in the ignition...

i recently (w/i the last 2 monhs) purchased an 06 A8L w/ 78k miles in the Dallas area for $19K...i've seen hundreds of photos of these cars and that one was the 1st i've seen that didn't show a functioning MMI display and headrest display...

could mean absolutely nothing or possible electrical issues of some sort... :-/

This one right?

I see what you mean about the MMI screen being up and blank, I've never seen that, as far as I'm aware it should auto retract when you take the key out. As for the rear screen, i wouldn't think anything into it, they most likely just took the picture of the one to show it had a DVD player.

you can have the screen up and off but that defeats the purpose of having taking a picture of it...lol...hopefully it's nothing, but definitely note worthy prior to heading out to look at it...

also, is it possible to edit posts on this sight...??? i purchased my A8L for 17k not 19k... :-/

I can see you like puzzles. That's good. A8 is full of them. Welcome.

Edit: Yes, it is possible. You have to ask moderators to turn it on for you.
