Hey,

So I am more a newer Audi guy ( I work for an Audi dealership, I have a RS5 cab and S4 but at a recent NEQ winter driving event I fell in love with the Audi 4000. I found one for sale local to me, and I was wondering what I should look for that is a common problem with the 4000's. The car has some rust on the exterior of the car, but that is not a big problem for me, I have already sourced new doors, hood, and trunk for the 4000. The car is daily driven by the current owner, and just passed PA inspection and such.

Also how hard is it to swap a 2.2l turbo 5 into the 4000? I have the full wire harness, new tranny, and a 2.2L 5 cyl but non turbo. I am contacting some members in NEQ that have more experience with the 4000. But I am trying to get some other answers as well.

A lot of the stuff people bring up as things to "watch out for" are simple annoyances. Anything can be fixed on these, and usually fairly cheaply. I'd be most concerned with anything that takes a lot of time to fix, like CV joints, clutch problems, major electrical issues, et cetera.

It's not like it drops right in and away you go, but people make it seem harder than it is by waving their hands and being all mysterious about it. If you can't get it done with my thread as a guide then there may be little hope.
