Not sure if it's been noted by OP, but all of the pics that have been posted are of S-Line bumpers. This is my rack swings down instead of out like most others.

Hi -

Two questions:
1) is your hitch a factory installed hitch?
2) Can you share the type of bike rack you have on your q5?

Thanx!

Default DIY hitch install

Has anyone seen and installed this "no-cut" hitch? I came across it on etrailer.com (an advertiser on this web site).

The dealer did it for me after I showed a rep the outline on the back of the plate. With the initial installation they just took the plate off and threw it in the trunk. When I took a closer look at the plate back home and saw the outline I called them. The service rep had never noticed that outline before but also said they don't do very many trailer hitch installations on the Q5.

I would be very concerned about ground clearance with that hitch. The Q5 standard hitch receiver is pretty low already (I'm using a hitch with a couple inches rise to get my trailer level). This looks like it steals about four inches of ground clearance which could put you at risk of scraping on a steep driveway or it may bump the curb backing into parking. May not be a problem for you but be sure of your driving and parking environment.
