It's very common on just about every car out there. What you can do it pull your wheels off and paint them with some high temp paint. PROBLEM SOLVED!

A picture is worth a thousand words....

Here is a photo of the the wheel on my S5. Note the three areas called out. I removed the hub cap so you can see the center of the wheel hub. It is very common to see a bit of rust on the disc rotor, in the area between the aluminum mounting flange and the cast iron of the rotor (the rotor "hat"), and on the center of the wheel hub.

So - do any of these correspond with the rust you are seeing? If so, this is perfectly normal - don't worry about it! And by all means do NOT think about applying any high temperature paint to these areas!

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with adding high temperature paint to the rotor hat, which is what I spoke of earlier.

Thanks for the picture and correct terms. it is the rotor hat where I am experiencing the rust.

My rotor hats are also a little rusted out, no big deal, is a raw material, any changes in weather, rain, etc applies.
