Problem solved - Temp sensor.
Just a quick update.
Ran another diagnostic check that raised a fault with the coolant gauge circuit.
Replaced temp sensor today and oil sensor warning disappeared. Fantastic!!

Was this the engine coolant temp sensor that was replaced? i have the same exact problem and replaced the oil sensor that was mentioned previously in this same thread and i still get that damn yellow oil sensor light. this is the only thread that ive seen so far that has actually resolved this problem. gonna take a look at it today and see if i could get rid of this damn light!!

10K is too long to go on a turbo engine - you need to go 5K max - Suggest you buy some oil detergent and run it for a couple of hundred miles and then drain and replace oil and filter.

Yellow Oil Sensor light

im not sure if you posted in the right thread. Still looking for the answer to my question. Yellow "oil can" sensor still on. changed oil, filter, sensor, and even saw that the wires were a little damaged, but that was fixed too and still senor light on. i reset the light and after driving for about 20 seconds i got the light right back. i saw that someone had replaced a sensor in the car but didnt specify which one it was. Anyone have any ideas?

Oil Sensor Yellow... solved.
So after a month of troubleshooting this Yellow "oil can" sensor indicator. i change the sensor (150 bucks), wiring (10 bucks), coolant temp sensor (25 bucks), a couple vacuum lines (3 bucks),.... knowing that after all that troubleshooting it was a burnt 10amp fuse in the fuse box that i found myself, thinking that a dealership would know better... priceless.
And take note that its been to two Audi dealerships…
Lesson learned, always check the small things before you start getting your hands dirty. Props to this site!!!

Pull the cover off and look at the diagram on the back of the cover. Cover is located on the left side of the dash accessible only with the door open.

I did. I checked all fuses that are 10a. They were all good. I think my sensor could be done. When I did my oil change last weekend I did notice that the wire on the sensor was a bit beat. I touched it to see if it was good and I ripped off. I taped it back together though. Could this possibly be the issue?
