Radio issues. LOUD Noise
So I have some radio issues with my 95 S6.
When I turn the radio on it squelches out an ear drum rupturing loud signal. Very very loud. Sounds like a sound you would hear on a police blotter.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the stupid phone speaker system.
I was hoping that was on its own fuse to disconnect and try but it doesnt appear to be the case. Any insight would be great.

I had this exact experience. After careful (and painful) listening I realized it was only in the rear deck and door speakers on one side. I bought a replacement rear amp (the one bottled to the underside of the package shelf in the trunk: Bose Alpha Kunden-NR. 4A5 035 225) off of eBay.
In the meantime, you can unplug the bad channel from the rear amp on the side that is squealing.
I also noticed that the boards are the same on each side of the amp, so you can save the good side of the old amp for the next time this happens. Which sooner or later it will, one imagines.

Thanks,
I'll take a look at both issues. Hoping its the phone if not I'll look to the second. its really too awful to tell which side its coming from. If its the same issue more power to you for trying to listen to which side. Impressive.

It's easy to test without ear abuse - unplug the thick cables from the rear amp and turn the stereo on. At least you know if it is the head unit or the rear amp then. Then plug the channels back in one at a time.

It wasnt the phone, Havent had much time. So if one side is bad that means the internal amplifier is bad?
I'll be honest, I'm not a big sound guy, never have been so I'm not the most educated

Black box bolted to underside of package shelf. Visible if you lean into the trunk and look up. One or both of the channels in that box are probably bad. It is easy to test by unplugging cables from that box one at a time. Each channel feeds a rear door and one of the package shelf speakers.
