Removed and replaced ABS fuse now lots of problems... :(
Sorry for the cross post, posted to VAGCOM but probably better in here?
I removed the ABS fuse whilst drying to troubleshoot a problem then quickly replaced it this afternoon however it seems to have set off a chain of events which basically means everything has gone up the kazoo.
I also removed the black plastic pin cover above the right hand fuse panel, under the same cover but a black cover with lots of pins underneath and purple plastic hinge. This may be more the problem anyhow ...
This is in an Audi A8 D3.
ABS doesn't work, a/c, door closing, windows, central locking etc etc etc.
Having a look via VAGCOM it can't communicate with lots of modules "Cannot be reached" such as Auto HVAC etc.
Clearing faults doesn't make any difference.
Having a look at the vagcom log produces the below. As the ABS was the most visible sign of the problem I tried to clear that and recode the steering sensor however it wont calibrate properly and I guess I am probably missing something more important! Any help greatly appreciated!

Not a technical answer, but from experience: I had a problem in my son's Jetta, the shifter would not come out of Park.
I ran a VAGCOM and the transmission module could not be reached.
The problem was a fuse located on the side fusebox of the dash. When we uninstalled an after market stereo that had the power wire hooked up to the fuse, it made the fuse holder part too big and the fuse was not making a connection. I figured it out because it happened right after we disconnected the wire, but I had no idea the fuse was for the transmission module. Once I plugged the fuse in correctly, the issue went away.
The reason for this story is that I believe that you have something that is disconnected at the fuse block causing all those modules to not be reachable by the VAGCOM. It is extremely unlikely that all those modules would fail at the same time. Take your time and go through all the connections, fuses and wires at the fuse block, I am willing to bet your problem is a loose connection.

thanks for the posting, you turned out to be right! Looks like some devices are connected in serial although I had run an optical bus test and all came out ok, so I guess they where not MOST devices.
Anyhow, I pushed all the fuses back in firmly across the whole board even though they all looked ok and now thank goodness all fine!

It Happens!
My very first Thread hear was a Page Full of Fault Codes. I think someone asked if the car had been Hit By Lightning! It all started with the Parking Brake Motor and 07 Control Issues which led me to Pulling and Checking Fuses. The Fuse Boxes are Very Sensitive, but needless to say I pulled and pushed every single fuse to make sure they were seated securely and Cleared all DTCs. The Thread was "A8 Blues" and since then I've become very aware of how sensitive this car is. Laters,
