Default Looks nice - and the GT2871 is a perfect fit for the 1.8T - but I'd be worried about longevity

Three cheers for doing a nice a/m turbo kit and s/w - that's not easy, I know.

However it appears from the photo that the Compressor Intake and Compressor Outlet pipes have been TIG welded the onto the turbo, which is NOT a very good idea. It's very likely that will crack after a few K mi's.

Keeping in mind the weight of downpipe and exhaust are hanging directly off the Turbo, while the engine itself pitches about the axis of the drive shaft - yet the intake & Intercooler assembly is bolted onto the car frame. You need to keep the mass that vibrates to an absolute min. and isolate it from the parts that don't move, using flexible couplings.

2~4 ply Silicone couplers and Constant Torque Clamps are the preferred solution.

Also, I cannot see a brace from the top of the Head to the Turbo. Vibration will eventually destroy those welds on the tubular EM first. Tubular EM's are notorious for their short lifespan on the track, using this setup on the street is likely to lead to metal failure which is ingested by the turbine, destroying the turbo - BTDT !

Of course getting a replacement GT28R turbo will be a PIA since yours effectively has a custom housing.

Refer to the following books for backup and the math involved on these exact issues:
Forced Induction

Maximum Boost

Both of these books are widely considered the bible of Turbos, by professionals in the industry.
