I assume you've just tried cleaning it with a $5 can of MAF cleaner. You can get a working used one for probably ~$100

I have and i ended up getting a newish MAF for cheaper. I wanted to upload a video but something is up with this site. But yeah when I jump on the gas in neutral there is a delay/sputter before it climbs over 1000rpm. like its not getting enough fuel?

http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ has a good selection of hoses and fittings for rolling your own like that, too. And cheap.
