Sorry for your loss but this is why you should always make sure that a) the battery isn't taller than 6 5/8" (168 mm) and b) the positive post has a cover on it.

.... and I thought it would be enough that I have made signature after each my post which tells which cars I own so I didn't write anything about this C4 S6+ which is not mine.

Try simply listing each Audi as your signature, instead of posting just a link.

Dave -- you need to add the V8 to your sig

Regardless, thanks for posting those photos. Several C4s will not burn as the result of people seeing those photos and deciding to make sure that their battery doesn't short out on the metal support frame of the rear seat bottom.

As for you signature, I did click on it but when a bunch of advertising opened up in your sig, I left without reading anything. SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

this was my goal to remind people about battery under rear seat, I'm glad that it did work out !
I have much worst access to the battery in my V8 - rear seats are electrically adjustable ....
