Default Got the email! Q5 TDI arrival

Received the email from dealer. Truck is expected next week. Delivery next weekend. Pretty jacked.

A little apprehensive. Our first Audi and the 2013 Q5 loaner we are driving now gives me some concern about build quality:

Vehicle "rattles" like crazy over rough roads in a number of areas. (hate noises)
Rear windshield wiper pretty poor coverage
Brakes "squeak" like crazy but noise goes away after warming up brake pads.

I understand every vehicle is unique and there are some differences vehicle to vehicle. Hope the new Q5 is better.

I'll post some pics next week.

Congrats on the imminent new arrival. I would guess your loaner is just beaten up; I have 1700 miles under my belt now and have no rattles or squeaks. Steve

Congrats on your purchase, and I think you will be happy with your new Q5 TDI. Loaner vehicles are not a good judge of overall build quality of a particular vehicle. As a previous poster said, they get beat up. My Q5 is without a doubt, the best SUV that I have owned to date. I have a few small issues, but no car is perfect. Many more pluses than minus's. Will be tough getting any sleep over the next few days for you!

The brakes will squeak until they are warm but this only happens in the winter. On the upside, the brakes are extremely powerful and produce little brake dust. The 2013+ brakes are Brembos.
Mine has covered a tough 30000 km in it's first year and doesn't have a single rattle. Rear wiper works better in non-freezing temps.

Enjoy.

Have about 3600 miles on our TDI; no rattles or noises as yet.
Don't what 2013 Q5 you were loaned, but my experience with the TDI is fabulous! Fuel economy avgs between 34-37 MPG and the acceleration of the TDI is breathtaking. Enjoy!
