Suspension options on C6
After living with sports suspension for over 2 years on Seattle's pitiful quality roads I'm ready either to get a hernia or to soften the suspension up.
Hurray for my dealer for recommending that the most economical option would be for me to trade my car in for one that didn't have it.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, and without any help from my dealer, can anyone point me toward aftermarket suspension systems that will soften the ride of my car?
I'd even be willing to trade suspension systems with a non-sport owner if it came down to that.
Thanks!!

After suffering from the harsh ride on my wife's previously owned
A4 with sport suspension, we didn't make the same mistake twice. We only went for 17" wheels, but not the 18" nor sport suspension option for the A6-3.2. City roads and sport suspension don't mix well.

Re: I just removed the base suspention from my 2007 with 700 miles
I just swaped out the base suspension for the sport from my 2007 A6. I have the springs, everything you need to make the swap. The non sport suspension rides alot softer, but actally corners very well. I will make you a great deal on everything...

I had the stock on 17 inchers for about 2 years, and changed the suspension recently.
I must say that the ride did not deteriorate as I found that the stock dampers were too firm, and would transmit small shocks into the cabin, although large bumps were quite well absorbed, given the wheel travel.
With the s-line + Koni FSDs, the ride became only slightly firmer, but was much better handling. The only real issue was deep ruts at higher speeds, and I can feel the shudder in the cabin. For me, that's a small price to pay for better handling. I stuck to the 17 inchers, and that may have quite a bit to do with the ride comfort.
Will go to 18 inchers soon, but the wheel and rim combination must be lighter than the current set up. Also looking for lighter brakes and wheel hubs - reducing unsprung weight will really help the ride too.
