Default FWIW, no shudder in mine

Never misses any shifts, up or down. All very smooth and hard to even sense w/ out looking at tach. S mode shifting seems rougher to me and just hangs one gear lower basically; hardly ever use it given the abundance of torque just off idle almost no matter the gear.

Never any shudder for me, which given the fluids involved might suggest something--takes Blue in the tranny of course but also a gear oil with a friction modifier in the tranny diff units.

If paddle shifted it will get out of the gear near redline even if I forget to shift it. Any you're right--1-2 at hard throttle is so fast its really hard to even time it well w/ paddles, even though the responsiveness to paddle input is fast.

I'm just going to keep an eye on it. It seems to be getting a little bit better as I drive it more. The harder I accelerate,m the less the thump> I guess I need to drive the hell out of it. Anyway JohnnyJ A6Q said his did the same thing when he purchased his W12 but eventually got better after some miles. I'm soing to give it some miles and then do a pan gasket, filter, and fluid.

I did look up replacing the torque strut and did see where you have to drill a hole to get to a bolt. I guess the engineering dept thought they were "lifetime" torque struts.
