Slipping while accelerating/ possible causes
The other day while I was accelerating, I got a sort of hesitation, almost as if there were retardation of the timing or an exhaust leak.
Situation:
I had my valve cover gaskets replaced two weeks ago and also my transmission serviced.
2000 A4 B5 V6 2.8
I do have re-occurring engine light VAG-COM codes for:
16805 P0421 Warm Up Catalyst; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold / Intermittent
16815 P0431 Warm Up Catalyst: Bank 2: Efficienty Below Threshold / Intermittent
17819 P1411 Secondary Air Injection System; Bank 2: Insufficient Flow / Intermittent
17831 P1423 Secondary Air Injection System; Bank 1: Insufficient Flow / Intermittent
18010 P1602 Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low / Intermittent
Tonight as I was looking over the engine, I started pushing down on the spark plug connections and #2 snapped into place. Could this have been the problem of the acceleration. I will check tomorrow but with the codes that have been re-occurring should I be concerned with the oxygen sensors and catalytic converters?

I disconnected it back in December. Another unexplained thing that happened when I did this was my mileage went from 132,000 miles to 41,000 miles

Well, my transmission died today. I was passing someone and heard a "thunk" and a few other noises like rattling. I had it towed to my mechanic and they have diagnosed that the transmission needs to be replaced. They called the local Audi dealership and were quoted roughly $4,500 for a rebuilt transmission. The mechanic will charge roughly $1,000 for labor.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to the direction I should take? Such as any other better deals for a rebuilt transmission or have my own transmission rebuilt or...?
Any ideas welcome.

Pull it yourself & save the $$$$. Shops will charge out the wazoo for the remove & install hours. Another idea is to take it apart your self with the proper manual diagnose & repair yourself. I did this to my F350 E4oD tranny when I was getting the shaft on rebuild pricing. I was being quoted $2,800...I did it for a whopping $375 on a weekend or so.
