Guys this is only getting worse then i thought, got my vehicle back from my local repair shop only to find out that the services rendered was a complete HACK job.

As you might already know, I have another issue with my vehicle which is the TPMS going haywire. So, today I took the vehicle to the dealer for service and they immediately called me to ask who had repaired the vehicle. (Mind you, the place I took my vehicle too is the same place the dealer sends all of their high-end cars too. Its the only local dealer who sells, Ferrari, Maserati, Audi, Jag, McLaren, etc..so immediately the manager was called to review the job that was done on my car)

The car is a total hack, the bumper, lights, molding, i mean everything with the exception of the paint job was half-*** work to say the least. Talk about building to the aggravation of this never ending matter.

Also would love to replace it with a honeycomb grill if anyone has any suggestions?

BTW still looking for the Ftard that hit me.

I used http://royaltyautocenter.com/ for my B5 a few years ago. They repainted/bondo'd my bumper after some dumb women driving in 6 inch heals accelerated into me at a dead stop. She said it was the shoes, yeah you think?!?

Anyways, they also detailed the full exterior and the car looked brand new. Reasonable cost too.

I feel your pain. I just woke up to my car being in a hit and run last night so far up to $8700 in damages and thats not included the suspension which I know is F_cked. Im guessing $13-15k before its done.

Ask your dealer to go to bat for you. If the dealer has a lot of business with the body shop then your dealer can tell the body shop to fix it properly otherwise they will not send their cars over to them. I am sure the bodyshop will definitely do a better job the second time around.

I am waiting for them to fix the main concern of drivability on my vehicle and once that has been completed I am going to ask the Service Manager to do just that. Honestly, if it wouldn't have been for this service I would have never noticed.

It shouldn't take the body shop a second time around to fix the car, it should have been done correctly from the get go...considering that it was there for 3 weeks.

Re: the hack job--I suppose it depends on how bad it is and who might "make it right." I would almost want to watch them fix it at this point, or select the techs who are going to do the work. Even "good" shops have some uneven staffing.

I am struggling with the same issue now. On Christmas eve I parked waaaay out in the corner of a grocery store lot with my 1,200 mile '12 S4. Came back to find damage almost exactly like the yellow S4 in this post.

Read on if you want to see my experience:

[Had the original purchase dealer's body shop fix damage. Paint and panel fit is good--nice job. But, everywhere they put a hand tool (the bolts that attach the fender, etc) they chipped paint around it or stripped the head of the bolt. Now, the headlight on that side of the car is filling with moisture during rain, and in the bright sunlight of spring, I noticed that they cracked the driver's side door panel (probably when removing it), and whatever filler they used to hide this has come out. Crack is small, but hey.

My car is far from cosmetically perfect. I drive to Vermont almost every weekend and hit gravel roads towards the end. So, I am balancing the state it's in now, versus what else they could screw up if I let them have it again. Mechanically it's great.]

I just dropped off my S4 off at Kim's Body Shop here in San Jose CA. They got really good reviews & they even had a 2012 S4 that was waiting to get picked up & it looked like great. They're also going to replace my grey front grill with a satin black with black chrome grill labor free (so if anyone needs a grey s4 grill I got 1 to sell at a good price). I feel the estimate from Gieco was a little low (roughly $2300) but hopefully no interior damage.

Sendmeone sorry to hear bout the hack job done on your S4. Hopefully the dealership will go to bat for you & get the work done correctly this time. Has your insurance company said anything regarding the work that was done?

Wish you luck on the car repair.

I actually was speaking to Audi and my local deanship today and both mentioned to me that they would step up to bat for me. I am going to pick up the car on Monday and its going straight to the body shop to repair the work that was done. Hopefully if Audi and the repair shop are in sync, Audi can tell them everything that is wrong for them to fix it the second time around.
