Default Service light reset help!

Can someone tell me how to reset servvice (oil) light on my 2008 A6. I have VagCom and currently my computer shows me "Service Due since 36 days ago, 600 miles". I did change the oil 600 miles ago but never reset the light.
I guess simple reset in VagCom wouldn't work since I read this on "Ross-Tech Wiki".
"In many of the latest Audi models (2008 and newer), the default "Simple Service Reset" or "Basic Service Reset" choice cannot be used. Instead, you must pick the appropriate choice for your region, for example "#2 Mileage based Service Reset (USA)". But whats is that mean
I don't want to mess anything up I just need the car to think that I changed the oil 600 miles (36 days) ago and for the light to go on when it's the time for next oil change. Someone with VagCom knowledge please help me out before I mess it up thanks

You can give it a try but it probably will not work on the C6 cars. Most of these cables are intended to be used with the Ross-Tech VAG-COM shareware software. The VAG-COM shareware software which works with those knock-offs does not support CAN based cars.

I don't understand - why not? Can you share details of the product that you bought and is working?

So, am I understanding this right, the ONLY way to reset the service notification for oil changes is through vag-com? There is no button, or MMI option?
