Unusual to see this on an essentially US forum!
One of my mates is taking his camping trailer and camping up there for a long weekend.
I got invited to go, but couldn't arrange sufficient time off.
Being a 9-10 hour drive from here, It's a full weekend job. He's going up Thursday, coming back Monday.
There's a number of R8's, Lambo's and Porsche's racing as i understand it...
Should be a good event.

Lol...wasn't expecting a surprised reaction! I love Motorsport, especially the one's Audi are in! I hope the R8 does well this year. I know that Mercedes SLS is insane though.

Yeah, I saw the GT Cup round at Phillip Island back in September.
They had an odd pit setup due to a mix of professional and amateur drivers, such that the professional drivers had prolonged pit stops.
We were up on the pit roof watching the whole thing - the SLS's had a tyre change, the R8's did the whole race on one set.
Craig Lowndes (Aussie V8 Supercar Driver) won in an R8 with the SLS close behind.
Those SLS's sound incredible on the straight - very low rumble from the V8, but odd firing pattern - sounds like a mix between an old muscle car and a V1 doodlebug from WW2!!

Yea I love those SLS's...I can easily pick them out from the sound (on TV unfortunately). They remind me of the Vettes' distinct sound/rumble from Le Mans. The R8 is just a great all around car and has been very successful in GT. Can't wait to see what this year holds at Le Mans for the R18 now that Big Daddy Porsche is back in LMP1!
