Spent 30 minutes with a 3.6
It wasn't the Sline on in the pics but that shouldn't matter.
I will just note the differences:
- Off the line it felt faster or at least as fast as the 4.2
- Acceleration after 50mph was poor
- MAIN PROBLEM : when you come to a stop, in gear, the car vibrates. The entire cabin seems to vibrate. Like the car wants to go but you won't let it. Very strange, not sure if it was only this one or all 3.6's feel this way. The 4.2 was quite as a baby at rest. Major turnoff. The one we drove had 40 miles on it so not sure if it was new car thing. We will not be purchasing the 3.6 for this sole reason if it is true on all 3.6's.
- Exhaust tips are cheap looking, flowmaster/camaro like
- It felt a tiny bit lighter on its feet, probably due to less weight of engine

Agree but ours not vibrate
Very much agree with you about the power off the line and after 50.
On the other hand, I don't believe the 3.6 prem I test drove vibrate. My wife also sat at the back and she thinks the car is pretty quite. But we do think the 4.2 is ride softer than the 3.6 and not sure is it true or not.
Btw, have you paid attendion to the roof rack and window sills and are they black instead of silver? Havn't seen a 3.6 base yet.

That vibration description reminds me of a (miserable) 1.8T A4 loaner car with tip. transmission.
Solution...offer a 6-speed manual in a 3.6 Q7. Audi probably already offers this outside of North America. If not, they can use the 6-speed manual that is already available in the Cayenne.
