I have copied my music from iTunes to my SD card but have been unable to transfer my playlists.

How can I transfer my playlists?

I know the basics about iTunes but am far from an expert user.

Are these songs bought from iTunes because I can't seem to play those songs in the car.

I'd check to see if Audi supports the .m3u file format (which is a playlist).

Most songs you buy on iTunes are copyright protected, meaning they won't play in anything but an apple device associated with your iTunes account.

you can get around this by burning the songs to a music cd, then ripping them back In mp3 format, but it gets pretty tedious.

Or jus tdump iTunes for Amazon, which has DRM free MP3's for the same price that play just fine on any platform.

Actually, the iTunes store moved to DRM-free beginning last year. (You can "upgrade" previously purchased music to DRM-free - and higher quality - for the pricing delta.)

Songs from iTunes nowadays are indeed DRM-free. However, they still come in AAC format, which basically no car stereo can play. Fortunately, you can easily get iTunes to convert them to mp3 format for you. Do this, and they'll play in your car.
