Tired of being harassed.

To the OP, I did 35%. Nothing special on my tint that I know of. Works great. I don't get messed with either. My personal theory with 20 years of tinted car driving under me is that luxury sedans don't get messed with as much as 2 doors. Once I stepped into 4 doors, the tickets stopped.
Did not know that bro. Thanks for the heads up.

I did it all around as well, including the windshield. It's not legal in Ontario, Canada to have it on the windshield but having the same light tint all around makes it unnoticeable.

always ALWAYS check with the state restrictions. It will be a pain in the a$$ for a fix it ticket. 35% should be good enough.

OK, I called few local tint shops. A few place with a computer cut with Johnson film. But I decided to go with the shop with Madico film. It's not a computer cut but sounds like he has been doing tint long time. I'm still thinking going with 35%.

Thanks all for your input. I will update with photo next week! :-)

If your in Chicago, it is illegal for you to have the front windows tinted. Even with the State law allowing you to do so, it will still be illegal. Most cops have so much things to do, they wont pull you over for the tints. BUT, if you are pulled over for other reasons, they will write you a ticket while they got you.

Surprised local laws would trump state. Might want to look into a sunshading medical waiver if your local jurisdiction allows it. Virginia does and my optometrist concurred that glare and bright lights screw me up. Signed the waiver and that allowed me to go 35% all around, vs the 50% front limit in VA.
