Cylinder 5 misfired
My engine stutters a little bit. I took it to a local mechanic who scan it and we saw that Cylinder 5 misfired. He quoted me something like $500 for 6 plugs and one coil plus labor, dealer's part. I figure I should do it myself.
So it looks like I need to remove the coolant bottle from the frame, then remove the coil from cylinder 5, and remove the spark plug.
I need to buy a coil and a spark plug, correct ? Can I buy it from say Autozone or Oreilly (Kragen) ?

Rockauto.com has five listed from $35 to $50. Look under 2001 AUDI ALLROAD 2.7L V6 Turbocharged : Ignition : Ignition Coil
You can also check eBay to see what prices are being asked.
I was thinking about your misfire and you can try swapping the coils first to see if the misfire moves. It might be easier than swapping plugs.

I am planning to sell the car. But I want to replace the plugs for the new owner whoever he is. I want to replace all 6 plugs but the two outer ones closest to the front looks most difficult. For those who have done this, what did you have to remove to get access to them ?

Save money by checking properly.

Start by insuring that the electrical contact in the harness is secured and clean. Next swap the coil from the suspect cylinder to another that was running good. If miss fire follow to the previously good working cylinder, coil is defective. If no change, move the plug as well. If the known-to-be-working-good clyinder run without miss fire, change the #5 injector.
UPDATE:
On 2001-2002 the power output stage control module is external to the system and can also cause missfire. However, when they fail, they usually cause a cylinder or two to not fire indefinitely.
