rebuilding a 2.0 10v
Hi, I'm removing my engine from my gt5s for a rebuild and rebore, 238,000 miles has taken its toll and I suspect the headgasket is gone anyways, I'm hoping while its out to turbo it rather than put another engine in as I like the idea of keeping the original 5 cylinder in it, does the 2.2 10v turbo manifolds fit? What options do I have for the fuel injection system? I'm going for the Quattro styling without the 4wd, I've done many VAG diesel conversions and modifications but im new to the old petrol engines

As far as I know, all the 5-cylinder engines (excluding the 20v stuff) share the same manifold bolt patterns and all that, so I don't think that part will be a problem. How much are you boring it out? If you're going up to 2.2L then you'll definitely want MC pistons and I'd keep an eye out for an MC head, assuming it's the same fitment. Or at least MC valves and cameshaft (which may require a small amount of machining if it's like the 2.1L KH).
If you want to stay CIS you'll need a 10vt fuel setup, including the ECU and wiring. You could also go EFI, like Megasquirt or the 034 one. I've done CIS Basic (no ECU, tuned like a carb) on an 8v but never 10v. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I've just never tested it so I can't officially recommend it.
Of course I should point out that since you'll need so many parts from the 10vt it would be cheaper and easier to just swap the whole 10vt from a parts car. But that's up to you and how easy it is to get one in your area.

Thanks for the reply, seems like a lot of 10vt parts are needed, parts aren't easy to get for these cars, I'm struggling to get a gearbox mount for the standard engine, I couldn't get sills either so I'm getting some manufactured, is the 1.8 20vt an easy swap in the coupe? I'm an autoelectrician so wiring one in isn't a problem for me.

By 1.8 are you talking about the 4-cylinder turbo? If so, the transmission in the car won't bolt to that engine (only 5-cylinders). You'd have to get an 01A or 01E transmission, and then you'd be on your own as I've never personally dealt with them. They would certainly bolt into the car, but there are differences in axle sizes, quattro versus non, et cetera.
