wnat to try VCDS lite with audi s6 2007 what cable to use??
I want to try VCDS lite but have problem connecting it, error: port status OK interface not found, in device manager I set it to com1 and in vcds also test com1 port in device manager no yellow signs so drivers installed. I use ELM 327 OBD cable. I can connect with other software no problem - proscan. What cable I should buy so it work with S6 2007???

I have an '08 S6.
You need either this:
Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN Unlimted VIN (All VAG)
or
Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-NET (WiFi/USB) 10 VINs (All VAG)
I have the second one. It's a decent upfront investment.

Two things i want to update you guys,
First: Found out that VCDS Lite finds the cable and setting the COM port to either 1-4 in the advanced setting the device manager works.
To resolve the VCDS Lite saying Interface: not found, connect the cable to the vehicle THEN run the test on the correct COM port.
Second:
This is all pointless because VCDS Lite does not communicate with CAN modules (outlined on the description for VCDS Lite on the Ross-Tech site). C6 A6/S6s are CAN so you'd connect to the vehicle but you will receive a "no response from controller" when attempting to enter a module.
ONLY VCDS can be used on our vehicles which requires the genuine cable or registered program to work.
Took me a while of internet searching to come to this realization.

Did you even read the previous posts? As mentioned above you need to purchase the Ross Tech cable linked above. The Lite cables will either not work or will only allow to read the standard OBD II codes.

Support Ross-Tech!
Cripes, you spent $20k or $60k or whatever on your Audi, and there's one vendor who makes a great software application to manage/modify your vehicle. This vendor has been supporting the Audi community for many years.
Spend the $300 on a genuine Ross-Tech cable. Support the vendor that made it possible. If you don't, that application won't be around for you to use.
