retrofit 2008y rectangular fog light
Hi,
Does rectangular fog light will fit 2006-2007 bumper?
If I buy new lights and grills, is it just old ones out and new one in?
thanks,

Hi,
Haven' t anyone tried this?
I had opportunity to compare my car with facelift and even grill "hooks" a bit difference. I think grills will fit after little bit of modification, but fog lights?
I didn' t have change to test facelift fog light to my car (I just removed grills and compared), but as fas I could see, these more difference with suitability.
I talked local dealer and they told my, it may fit a little modifications, but they could be sure.
So, have anyone done this, or have link wo have, I really be grateful.
thanks,

I know the lights, and the ad on eBay...
I know the rectangular fog lights from the final face lift, and a $400 ad on eBay that has been there like forever now. But, having been on the board since pre-2008 facelift continually, I don't ever recall a single post on it. Same on QW by the way. Also, from having the fog lights out a few times on my 2006 W12 (round) and seeing that area immediately behind them, visually it doesn't seem offhand like they would be a good physical fit.
To get any more info, you might have to search out the Euro/German boards and search or try there. But, need to deal auf Deutsch realistically for a lot of that.

I looked at some photos and the grilles for the later rectangular ones look deeper (taller)
Audi also quickly went back to round ones until today, the rectangular ones were but a passing fad.

They are physically different( in terms of the way they sit inside the bumper housing). I have a set " rectangular fog lights" I got from doing a few deals with a guy that sells Audi parts. I was going to see if I could make it work but once I took out my stock lights 06, there would have to be some cutting to make it work. When it gets warmer out, I can take some picture to show you the different if you like. I may try to see if I can make it work, when I take the bumper off to paint it.

I'm about to pull the trigger on these as well and am wondering where the potential fitment issues may lie. I'm converting to an S8 front bumper as well so should I use an '08+ S8 or is there even a difference between the '07 bumper (with the circular fogs) and the updated version. I swear I've run across pictures of those that have converted before but can't seem to find them at the moment.

I'm converting the nose to a S8 cover and from what I've researched, either the round or rectangular ones are a direct bolt on for an S8. Not sure about an A8 though. I prefered the grill of the round fogs so I went with those. Also I used an 08 W12 grill so the grill between an A8 and S8 are interchangeable.

thanks,
I toked picture of facelift and mine, and looks it isn' t plug n play.
With red marked grill "hooks"
Seems you have to cut the bumper and even then it may not fit perfectly.
I think this could be done, but if you remove grilles, it will look bad.

Thanks for the pics, that helps a ton! So judging from the pictures is it safe to assume one would need a different front bumper (with the updated mounting points) in order to run the newer foglights? Under this assumption I wonder if the '07 S8 front bumper has a different part number from the '08-09 front bumper (with the updated fogs).
