I thought that it was the best in the market short of the semi-permanent paint protection systems. But found that the high content Carnuba waxes were better, but much more difficult to apply.

You are forgetting the price difference between Zaino and Swissvax. Swissvax Mystery runs for about $600 (http://www.amazon.com/Swissvax-Mystery/dp/B002LOP6N4) and it is only a top coat. I've not tried Zaino, but have heard good things about it.
Few other products that I have in my garage:
JetSeal 109
Liquid Glass (easy on, easy off)
Klasse AIO (will do wonders on a black car which has oxidation)

Klasse Sealant Glaze (SG) is a PAIN to remove if you let it dry - you will never be able to remove it then. The trick that I learnt from some of the other detailing boards (autopia and e90post) is to not let the SG dry. SG protects the paint, but needs to bond with the car, and therefore you have to wait a day or two before doing another coat. Shine gets progressively better with each coat. Zaino has some kind of accelerant to allow you to do multiple coats back to back.
