Default POS Module heatsink finished...

I forgot to center-drill the 6 vertical cooling
bores before bead-blasting so I rushed the picture. I'll re-blast it tomorrow with some other parts that need it as well. Fortunately this is a sub-1 minute R&R part.

I'll post a pic of this mounted after dinner. No idea on efficiency but I know it'll kick the stock steel plates *** seven ways to Sunday... and that may be good enough!

Default Made, installed and finished...

I hate wasting an entire day on a project like this but "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." You can just see the stock steel 1.5mm (.061")thick original mounting plate top & behind the heatsink in this pic. With either stock plenum or 3" hose kit this is a VERY poor air circulation spot. Hopefully this will add mucho additional life to this module. Without it the car is as dead in the water as if it was missing pistons.

Mance, did you use any heat transfer gel to help things out at all? Common computer heat sink stuff would work well..

Looks good by the way.

Default no, because I lapped the two surfaces together with Clover diamond dust lapping paste...

on the back of the module/front of heatsink and back of heatsink and face of stock firewall mounting plate. Then a light dab of 1,800*F "Lub-O-Seal" copper anti-seize compound smeared around on all lapped surfaces in a VERY thin layer.

The heat transfer paste used on PC's/solid state equipment just didn't seem up to the task temp-wise or the under-hood environment.

Lub-O-Seal Copper anti-seize
