Glad I found this. Mine went on a flatbed yesterday headed to the dealer for the same thing. Fluid all over the driveway when I got home. Guess we will see.

I asked my dealer today about the TSB and he said there is none. The grill comes with replacement cooling unit as an add-on, but if you want it otherwise you have to pay for it. He said it wasn't cheap.

I did see just the replacement cooler with no grill for $150 on one of the Audi parts sites.

There are threads about making a guard from hardware cloth. I would use some expanded or perforated metal. Customcargrills.com has a good selection. Here's a chart of their offerings.
