Any reason why A7 Injen intake wouldn't work in an A6 3.0L?

Default Any reason why A7 Injen intake wouldn't work in an A6 3.0L?

Hello - Audi newbie here. I am going to have a local shop install the GIAC tune for my 2012 A6. GIAC mentions max gains are had when coupled with aftermarket cold air intakes. I've also seen the dyno results with decent gains for the intakes on their own.
The problem I have is, no one seems to sell an intake for the 2012 A6 except for USP which in my opinion seems over priced and I don't like the look of the plastic welds. I see an option for the A7 from Injen that I assume would fit but wanted to get opinions from those on here who may have tried it or know of others who have. Thanks in advance!

I'm almost certain Mike L has an injen intake on his A6. If he's around I'm sure he can answer this. Otherwise why not just give them a call?

I have an Injen intake on my 3.0t. I am a bit confused, what is your 3.0L if you are in Indy? I thought L was a designation for the A6 in Asia. As L is traditionally "long" or "limo"

It fits fine. Little nuisance to get the mount attached, but it does attach and it does work.

Gotta be careful of the vacuum lines that attach to the top of the stock pipe. If you don't position them right, the support brace for the intake will wear through one of them. Guess how I know.

L = liter in this case...didn't think about that causing confusion with the A8L and the like.

Thanks for the advice--I figured someone on here made it work!

Ive been trying to get the Injet rubber bracket bolted to my A7, but I can't get the original a/c mounting bolt on the firewall undone.

Injen say its a T30 bolt, but none of my (x3) T30's will fit it.

Any tips on how to remove?

Cheers,
John.
